Welcome to our newest offering from the Yoga tradition.
Many of you will know that our Asana classes are to help maintain our physical health so we can practice the other limbs of yoga without physical limitations getting in the way.
I am going to be starting two new classes a week where we will focus on our Pranayama and Yogic meditation.
You will have had a taste of these from my sessions but I wanted us to carve out some time to focus more directly on these practices.
You will see they are straight after our Dynamic sessions, one is on Monday evening and the other is on Saturday morning.
These classes are ideally done together but if you are not a dynamic yogi then you are welcome to come to this class as a stand alone practice.
The work we are doing is best done on an empty stomach or at least 4 hours since last eating solid food. As with most yoga practices.
There are some contraindications to practicing vigorous pranayama, these are,
Untreated high blood pressure.
Aneurism and thrombosis.
If you suffer from any of these conditions then please contact me before entering into the programme. There are work arounds to these conditions but that is best discussed in private. Often there is not enough time in the session to address these in detail.
